Politics at the Pub: Digital Diplomacy

The Canadian International Council’s National Capital Branch welcomes you to the next Politics at the Pub event, "Digital Diplomacy in the Current Era of Foreign Affairs", on Monday, November 27.

The rapid growth of digital media and information technologies has broadened the realm of political discourse and public diplomacy. The concept of digital diplomacy, including what some refer to as “Twitter diplomacy”, has been around for some time now, with varying approaches taken by different countries and governments. What has digital diplomacy achieved so far? How has it evolved from initial expectations? How effective is it as a means of influencing foreign affairs? Where do future opportunities lie?

Spend the evening with us as our panel addresses the value of this emerging field and discusses how different state and non-state actors are getting involved in this new generation of diplomacy and foreign affairs.

** Panelists will be announced shortly **

Tickets are only $5.00 for CIC members and $10.00 for non-members, and include a glass of wine or craft beer. They can be purchased online on Eventbrite, with a limited quantity also available at the door.

Schedule:
