OCTEVAW Court Watch

Court Watch is an innovative program aiming to increase public awareness and community presence within the Domestic Violence Court.

OCTEVAW trains volunteer observers to attend Domestic Violence Court cases to be present during cases to provide an oversight mechanism in the court system.

Volunteers also collect quantitative and qualitative data during Domestic Violence court (DVC) proceedings (one component of the overall Domestic Violence Court program), from the perspective of an outside observer, to examine the functioning of the DVC, case dispositions, and sentencing of offenders.
