OCTEVAW Membership

The Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women (OCTEVAW) welcomes representatives from various sectors and movements to promote a coordinated response to abuse against women and children. Our diverse membership includes crisis workers, social service providers, researchers, advocates, and community members.

OCTEVAW prioritizes inclusivity and accessibility, particularly for survivors of violence.

Benefits of membership include:

  • Active involvement in preventing and ending violence against women and gender-based violence

  • Participation in Standing Committees such as Frontline, Public Engagement, GBV Leadership, and Healing Justice

  • Contribution to the development and delivery of prevention programming

  • Use of OCTEVAW's website and social media resources, including listing as a member organization and promotion of aligned events

  • Opportunities for professional development and capacity strengthening, with support for VAW workers

  • Access to wellness and healing sessions for frontline workers

  • Networking opportunities through committee participation and other sessions

  • Resource, information, and knowledge sharing

  • Voting rights at OCTEVAW's Annual General Meeting

  • Discounts at selected establishments such as Enterprise and The Annex Hotel in Toronto.

Member Agencies 

Our member agencies do incredible work for our community and beyond. They each play a role in providing informative resources, crucial front-line support, and fostering a feminist community focused on reducing gender-based violence.

 

Non-voting participant agencies:

Individuals and organizations who do not meet all the criteria for membership are encouraged to contribute and participate in OCTEVAW Standing Committees. Non-voting participants are not required to pay membership fees or sign our Memorandum of Agreement. Current non-voting participants are:
